We received the Windber package in February and sent it back right away with our payment. We canceled going to Americade and Laconia this year because of my China schedule but we are thinking about a couple of extra days around Windber for a mini vacation. The riding is great and we would take the truck and trailer with the Ultra and a bunch of small bikes. I think that we are going to stay at the Super 8 Motel in Johnstown this year. It is a 5 mile ride to Jeff's on the back roads and we would just ride the X-90s.

Fender is a little too tight. I made the strut using a stock tire for fitting. The whitewalls have a 1" bigger OD so it looks like I will have to make a longer strut.

I disassembled the NOS Z-90 front forks to get the fork tubes that I need for the Bobber. The original X-90 front end took a serious hit at some point in its life. I had to shorten the new tubes, machine the snap ring grooves, and drill the oil passage holes. I also found a NOS set of bushings. The lower sliders were cleaned, bead blasted and powder coated. I am waiting on the upper seals and then I can install the boots and install the front forks on the bike.

The new strut and rear fender are finally installed. I also installed the headlight bucket and the tail light. I think that the tank is shiny enough now.

Don's Body Shop in Marblehead does our paint work. They are right down the road and their work is outstanding.

I found a problem with tying the bike down on the trailer. Since everything is powder coated there is nothing to hook on to without marring the powder. Hhhhmmmm, I grabbed a piece of scrap stainless and put it in the machining center. I wrote a quickie program and milled out a couple of tie down tabs. The tabs were seperated, ground, buffed, polished and installed. They may look a little out of place but now I can tie the bike down. I finally installed the engine.
