The stock exhaust is not going to look correct on a Bobber. There are no aftermarket exhausts to fit these bikes. My only choice is to make a new pipe and expansion chamber to fit the bike. I am going to have to get creative to get the appearance and performance that I require. I would like to wrap the entire exhaust with black insulating wrap when it is finished. Has anyone ever used this product? www.thermotec.com/product_detail.php?prd_id=3

I haven't see any of it used, but by the looks of it, if you wrap it right, it will look cool on the little bike. How are you going to custom build and tune an expansion chamber ? Got some insight on what you need to do ?

I have sen it all the time on Cafe bikes ,, kinda the look , I even bought some for cafe shoe ,, BUT after reading about it I decided against it , I guess the wrap holds in an moisture and will rust out your pipes in the long run.. I would not see that the case on your bike .If you do decide to do this . Buy a kit as the SS straps are expensive and use the 1 inch wide as it looks the best in my hubble option ,, I guess it stinks for a long time after you use it with hot pipes ..

Got some insight on what you need to do ? I have some pretty intense mathematical formulas for building expansion chambers or I could fill the exisiting one with water and duplicate the volume.

I always thought it worked on sound waves causing a vaccum ,,

It's more of a pulse factor with a 2-stroke motor. The length of the small pipe after the expansion chamber is what we used to tune the go-kart race engines.

I was at the powder coater Wednesday night and we have most of the parts finished. We should be able to finish tonight and then we can finally start assembling the bike.
I think that we lucked out with this bike because it looks like a mini version of the new Harley "Cross Bones". With that in mind, it should do well at the bike shows.

We finished powder coating Friday night and I finally was able to start assembling the bike today. A stock frame is on the left. The new frame is ready to assemble. I like the wheels. The rims are gloss black and all of the aluminum hub parts are satin texture powder coated. The stock oil tank is on the left. The new tank uses the stock sight glass and filler cap. I forgot to have the bearing cups for the steering stem replated. No problem, I whipped a new stainless set out on the lathe and polished them. If it is a new bike, it should start life with no miles. It took over a year but I found an NOS speedometer. I always have to get the big OK for our chief mechanic.
