Just curious if any of you carry protection on your bike while traveling and camping . When I say protection, I don't mean condoms, I refer to a firearm, pepper spray, tazer or whatever. You can vote without giving an explanation if you prefer.

Nope mostly everything here is illegal, knives, guns of any sort, I only carry my official badge so if I get any bother with the boys in blue I can say I had a speeding car under surveillance!

Do any of these count a swiss army knife, sun blocker, and a wide brim hat? :-)

Ok, I had to read that post twice and then read what other people posted just to understand what kind of protection you were talking about, thought it was awful personal question. ;D
I don't carry protection with me, x-90 is too heavy! ;D

No but I know a few that do. I was wondering though, why ask a question like this? Have you needed protection at some point?

Bob, I am just curious about carrying protection while riding, especially if the rider camps in remote areas. There are some crazy people out there. A friend of mine always carries a 25 cal. semi auto in his pocket which could have caused him a lot of problems. He rode into a neighboring state that required a helmet and got ticketed for no helmet. They didn't find the hand gun or he would have been in big trouble.

I've carried rifles, bows and pistols but not for protection. You do get some funny looks when you have a bow strapped across your back with a quiver of razor sparp tips glistening in the sun...
I have taken a few impliments along when camping the woods.

I don't carry anything. But then again I've never even shot a gun before. I do carry a knife but it's strictly as a "tool" and not a protective device.

Years ago when I lived in Norwich and still at school by best bud was a guy called Richard Davis, he was stone mad then and still is now, anyway when we left school we both got bikes but we have gone our own ways since 1978, anyway I digress. His dad had been a Royal Marine during WW 2 and was on the beach during D Day, so Richard always had a thing about firearms. One day he scored a genuine sten gun from the 1940's off a guy we knew in school and rode home on his bike with this gun over his shoulder, imagine the surprise of the boys in blue when they stopped him and wanted to know what it was! Now that was protection!
