The mighty Yamaha V-Max has been mentioned several times before on this forum, but I think it's time to put it right here with the other classic motorcycles. The V-Max has been on the market for over 21 years and still remains one of the most talked about motorcycles of our time. Just recently I spent some time at the local Yamaha shop looking at the new 2007 models, and the Max was still drawing it's fair share of the attention of new bike buyers. The mighty Max with it's 1198cc v-4 engine puts off an awesome sound when fitted with a good aftermarket set of pipes, the first time I heard a Max with a 2 into 2 Supertrap system, I thought I was hearing the sound of a full race small block Chevy. Of course, sound alone is not what the Max is all about, it is about brute torque and rubber burning horsepower. The boost system on the Max will turn your hair white if you are not prepared when it hits it's mid-range. Over the years, the Max has experienced a few drive train problems and a few other hitches, but all in all, it has been a bullet proof muscle bound king of the hill cruiser bike to be reckoned with. I think it deserves to be here with the classics. Here then is the Mighty Max: www.starmotorcycles.com/star/products/modelhome/23/home.aspx
