For what it's worth, my old Shoei helmet was getting a little worse for wear, so I replaced with a Nolan N100E modular helmet. I am very impressed with the quality of the Nolan, the fit and finish are excellent. At one time I thought Nolan was a low end helmet, but the N100E has made me re-think my original opinion. Only time will tell if it is as good as the Shoei.

I agree...Nolan helmets are coming out with some nice stuff. In the last year my husband got the N102 modular helmet and I got the N42 which is the same but with only a face shield and no chin bar. We really like them so far. The best part is the simple addition of the sun visor. It is great for those days when the sky suddenly clears and catches you not wearing sunglasses or partly cloudy days when it is too dark for the sunglasses and the sun pops out and blinds you. Slap down that visor and you're set!

Yeh, I'm impressed with the quality of the Nolan, and I like the flip up feature when I want to hold a conversation without yelling thru my face shield. When I was shopping for a new helmet, I tried a lot of them on and checked the quality as I shopped, the price between the Nolan and the Shoei is quite a bit. I wasn't convinced the Shoei was worth the extra money. I haven't used the sun visor on the Nolan yet, but it will come in handy this summer. I know from experience that I can wear my old Shoei 12 or 14 hours and still be comfortable, the Nolan still has to prove itself. I'll get that sorted out this summer.
