Michelin has announced it is to recall some of its Pilot Power and Pilot Power 2CT front tyres due to a defect in the tread. The recall revolves around French-made Michelin Pilot Power and 2CT tyres, and only affects 120/70 ZR17 front rubber. Michelin says owners with Pilot Power and Pilot Power 2CT front tyres in 120/70 ZR17 size should check the wording on the sidewall to see if their tyre is affected by the recall. Only Michelin Pilot Power tyres with the words “Made in France” and the numbers DOT6UCW980T or DOT6UCW979T need to get their tyres changed. Michelin also announced these tyres will no longer be sold by dealers. The firm says none of the affected tyres have lost pressure, and no accidents have occurred due to the tread failure. As MCN went to press for the June 20 issue, Michelin was still deciding exactly what the tyres would be changed for, but a spokesman said: “The problem only affects French-made Pilot Power and Pilot Power 2CT tyres. “We also make these tyres in Spain, so it’s likely we’ll change them for Spanish-made versions of the same tyre.”

Well I guess it would only be a problem with the French made product! Maybe someone put Horlicks in the Donkey's feed or something?
