Per suggestion from Davecbrf3, vote for the wheel you prefer on a motorcycle.
I prefer the Mag wheel because of it ease of maintenance, and the Mag is easier to keep clean. The Mag wheel can be painted for color coordination on a custom bike. Spoke wheels tend to need a lot of wax and elbow grease to keep them sparkling, and along with spokes come the chrome rims which need an equal amount of time to keep them from rusting. The up side of spoke rims is that if properly maintained, there is nothing I like better than seeing a bike going down the road with spokes twinkling in the sun. I think a true retro bike should have spoke wheels and chrome rims.

I had spoke wheels ONCE! I was ready to buy stock in Never-dull! They look great, but you can't ride down the street without messing them up. But man, I appreciate the efforts of the people who have nice clean spokes...they sure are perdy!
I am learning that neglected mag wheels are not fun either. The wheels on the Sporty were pretty oxidized or corroded or whatever those wheels do. Anybody know why I can rub the living daylights out of those rims with Never-dull and it seems to magically produce a never-ending supply of black goo? It's not looking like it is clear coat coming off either...but maybe it is?

Most of them if they are not painted a color, are clear coated at the factory. I used Sherwin-Williams super strip on the clear coat on the wheels of my 77D to remove the clear coat. Then I polished with Mothers mag/alum polish. Once you remove the clear coat, you have to keep after them or they will oxidize quickly.

I never liked spokes even on bicycles (except for the cool sound they make when You clip a Baseball card on them ;D) I think they look good on some bikes but No way would I want to care for them.

i figure the trouble is when your mag wheels also have polished sections ... and to have them done might well be expensive ?? this pair of nos lester wheels cost me £35 delivered ! and this set of morris aftermarket kawasaki wheels cost me £110 shipped from the usa ! new old stock has worked out well for me ;D

I like the looks of spokes. Also like the function and ease of maintainance of mags.

My 2 cents: Same as JCS... Looks of spokes; function and ease of maintenance with the mags...
(Now, give me my 2 cents back... I need all the sense.. er.. cents... I can get... :-) )
