Ok I am getting our XS group together next month. I thought we might go to Rocky Fork for a grill out,I will be in the car so I can carry everything. But if I am able to ride is there a nice place to eat near that area? A mom pop type place is usually the best. We only have 5 of us this time that I know of...2 Cincinnati,2 Dayton and one l Chillicothe, just trying to keep it half way convenient for all. Most likely no ride involved just a shoot the chit type of deal, see how we are all doing. Ideas? Thanks.

XS..I would say the food was average,I had catfish and asparagus but the others said their steaks were good. I would say it is your typical chain style food, service was a bit slow but the employees were really good. www.dakotas-roadhouse.com/menu/starters-soups-salads/It wasn't the best but it was quiet and clean. Forgot how much I enjoy RT 50..my old stomping ground territory.

Bill... About 22 years ago I spent a lot of time in Hillsboro/Lynchburg area. On US 50 there was a restaurant on the north side of the road called the Fireside. Used to stop there for lunch. I have not been out that way in ages. Also used to be a Ponderosa Steak House just south of Hillsboro at 545 S. High Street. And a Wooden Spoon just north on Hillsboro but now that is closed.

I grew up on the east side and used to ride along the river and every road in between.Hit all the roads where East Fork Lake is now,all under water.I like that side of town better than the west. One thing about rt50 that I liked was that it has not changed all that much, get east of 275 and it is in a time warp.Trying to sell a condo I own at rt 50 and 275 so it is nice to get "back home" from time to time.
