I am not able to shift a bike right now even with the heal toe shifter but I just started thinking about an automatic,I know a few were made, don't remember what they were or who made them or how they worked and were they worth a crap? Just remembered a little about them.

Thanks guys for the replies, the 750 I sorrta remember,to upgrade my bike to an electric shift would cost about what the bike is worth. The FJR can come with an automatic? That is more bike than I need but it has been over a year since I have ridden and I am am going a bit stir crazy when I see and hear all the bikes around me.I got a new knee a little while back which is not a big deal but my left foot and a few other things have kept me from riding, well at least safely for me and those around me.So I am looking into some options as to options I can do.Get my foot fixed..well I only have three options..I am doing #1 right now till...I will leave it at that and it is a boot.. i156.photobucket.com/albums/t37/yamaha_28/002-51.jpg[/img]The other options scare me a bit. try pic again

I feel your pain Amtrak, I have had a stiff knee from a crash that happened back in the 1960s. Every bike that I have owned since then I have had to alter the shifter and move the footpeg forward about a foot. The V-Star is the only bike that I can ride without alterations. I sometimes get frustrated because I can't ride the bikes I want to ride like the V-Strom or my son-in-laws KLR650. I take comfort in the fact that I'm not dead from the crash back in the 1960s, I spent 12 months and 8 days in the hospital back then, but I found a way to ride. I have owned and altered over 30 bikes in my lifetime.
Not much help to you, but there it is.
