Apparently it is way, WAY over my head! I'm not even sure what this thread is about anymore...and I started it! Like, where did Roy Orbinson come into the picture?!!!!

In Europe, and I guess Ireland as well as we are part of Europe, only two things would be referred to as the Big 'O' and Roy was one one of them. The other one only the French seem to think they can achieve, but we just don't tell them it's pretty common all over Europe, you know how the French like to think themselves superior to everyone else! Anyway glad to see you finally got to ride the Sporty, I love mine although yours is bigger? I hope you have as much fun with yours as me and the Irish Princess has with our Sporty!

I'm laughing, Bill. It seems we were only half on the same page! No wonder neither of us had a clue what the other was talking about. No, Roy Orbison is just Roy Orbison over here. The other thing that the French think they have the corner on the market is the same over here. I am just playing on that French deal thing and the fact that my bike is orange and I call my bike the "Big O"
Now that we sorted that out, yes, I loved riding the Sporty. Yes too, mine is bigger (1200), but as the French should also know, it's not the size, it's how much fun you have with it! ;D

Glad to hear that little misunderstanding has been cleared up! I hope you enjoy your Sporty, sounds to me like you will!
I have enough of what I want from the 883, it handles way better than I thought it would and speed for me isn't really an issue. Keep your knees in the breeze!

When Roy Obison came into the picture I thought one of us lost it for sure. Turns out we were just both speaking different languages....English ! I bet the extra cc's would only be noticed if we had them 2up or the highway. If I like mine half as much as you seem to like your's, I'll be a very happy girl! Fooey...It was not an accident I named the bike the same as the another pleasure (and not Roy Obison!) ;D
