Just a little poll to see how our members prefer to ride. You can pick up to three of the above questions.

I am retired and lead "Retired and Riding"group rides every week and have for 12 years since retiring.
Years ago we were involved with a MC Club that ceased because all the members were dying (old age and heart, diabetes related illnesses) and continuing now as a Charter Member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association -I was a ride coordinator for years.
I have led more than my share of rides and continue to do so. Lots of retirees love to have a "turn key ride" - they turn the key and follow me. - But then again - that is just me.

Difficult poll. There are times when I prefer all of the above. Just depends on the day and circumstances.

I prefer to ride solo with no pillion partner, however, having said that, there is nothing more rewarding than riding with a group of riders who know what they are doing. Riding with a good group of riders is even more rewarding if I can show them a little part of my Ohio that they have never seen before.

When riding I just go where the traffic flow is the opposite direction. It is more enjoyable once in awhile to have another bike along to share the ride with but over all most of my time on the bike has been solo with no other bikes.

I don't mind a passenger at all, it's just hard to ride 2-up where I like to ride. TGorman has done a few, white knuckled and verbally chanting prayer

I guess it all depends on your choice of motorcycle, how it is equipped and the comfort level of how you ride. I don't ride off road, just back roads 95% - other 5% would be major highways like Interstates and US highways. My Gold Wing has a very good comfort level for my pillion (spell that "wife" - that with stereo from the radio or MP3 player makes travel with smiles from the pillion. Sometimes my wife reads (no music) or has been known to relax enough to go to sleep. Some say the Gold Wing has all the comforts of home - (Cappuccino and bagel maker really not included) When I lead group rides I prefer to have no music but just listening to the Wing sing! Of course we all have CB radios and I communicate upcoming turns, road kill left or right track, "P' stops, or gas stops instead of using some hand signals that can easily be missed or misunderstood. That is just how the Retired and Riding group rides. 80% are Gold Wings, then there are a few a other bikes all equipped with CB radios... Connie, Pacific Coast, Burgman Scooter, Harley, a Triumph and whatever someone else wants to ride. Everyone seems to want to know what is going on... Sorry I rambled...

We rode through some back woods of WVa Monday afternoon, my passenger experienced her 1st dirt road creek crossing swearing up and down she heard banjo music as the road turned and went up stream for about 20 yards before fully crossing over.
