I will plan to lead a ride on Saturday May 12th. We will meet at 10AM and leave at 10:15 AM. I propose a ride starting at the Speedway on RT 62 on the south side of Millersburg. We would head down south on US60 to Zanesville. We would then take OH555 for around 45 to 50 miles then head back up to Mcconnelsvile. We would then take OH 78 east towards I-77. We would plan a stop at the Miners Memorial park where the shovel from Big Muskie is on display. The ride would end at OH 78 and I -77. We would be on our own to get home from there. The ride would be around 135-150 miles. I have not worked out a place to eat at this point. I hope to pre-ride the route in the next couple of weeks and get the details worked. The following Saturday 5/19 would be the rain date.

What would be the approximate end time at 78 / I-77 ? I would like to go, but after a full day ride, I'd still have 170 miles to get home from Caldwell.

Yesterday I rode down to Mohican area. Took 3 to 205 in Jelloway, then 205 to Danville. North on 514 to 520, and then south to Killbuck. 60 south from Killbuck has a detour posted at 62. Not sure if it's due to high water or construction.
Since it was close to 3 pm by then, I opted to go north to Millersburg, over to Berlin, and then home via Kidron, Wooster and Ashland.
The water near Killbuck looked like it had recently receded so perhaps 60 was flooded down near Blissfield. I've seen that several times before.
The roads in the state lands at Mohican were hit hard by the winter. Lots of holes. The rest of the area was okay, but watch out for gravel washed down from side roads and driveways. I had a few "surprises" along the way which could have been " oh crap" moments had I been riding faster.

Good to see you out and about, It was like Mike Gorman was the only one getting out. Picked up the bike from a service yesterday but the brake pads have to be ordered in from the UK so will take it back on Thursday. They will power wash it as well for me. Yeah I know I am a lazy git! anyway great weather here.

It feels great to be back on the road again. I had the Wing and Thumper in storage until recently, but now that they're home, I'll be out riding every chance I get now. Yesterday was spectacular. I was out over 7 hours and did a little over 250 miles of roaming around Mohican area and Amish country. Sorry to jack your thread, Jeffe...

I preroad the route for the ride. I modified it a bit . We will take 60 thru Zanesville and catch 555 jsut south of town. We then take 555 to 669 and ride that up to Malta where we will cross the river to Mcconnelsville. We will take 78 east to the Miner Memorial park and then on to I-77 which will be the end. We will stop for lunch at the Cracker Barrel in Zanesville and have a gas stop in Mconnelsville. The whole ride is right at 120 miles and will take around 4 hours or so including the stops for lunch and the park. The gas stop is right around 95 miles into the ride. Hope to see everyone!!!

Good plan... Sounds great! Wish I was a little closer...! Did this with some friends in early spring 2009 while I had the 2002 blue Wing! Rode most of the roads you mentioned back a couple years ago. Then back in October 2010... The same trip my group stopped at a covered bridge on Route 26 north of Marietta!

Is there some way I can catch everyone in Zanesville? I'd love to meet all and ride with.
