Winter here in the hill country has been mild, but wet (they need the rain). I finally had a nice day to try one of the 3 roads that makes up the Twisted Sisters ride. The road started easy enough, but when it got tight and curvy, there was a huge sign telling how many bikers died on that section last year. The road surely tested my skills. It is tight , 10 mile an hour, hairpin turns, narrow, no burms, steep drop offs, great views (if you dare take your eyes off the pavement). The mountain cuts make it impossible to see through the turns. I hope to ride this road several times more this winter, it was great.

Good to hear you are riding, we are expecting a snow storm here in Ohio.
Take some photos if you ride the twisted sister again.

I wish I had some pictures, but I am having trouble with my computer. I am back in Marietta. I did get to ride "the sisters", a total of 4 hours to and from Bandera TX. It was great fun, At the beginning of each of the 3 roads is a big sign telling how many bikers have died in recent years and advising caution. There are 10 mile an hour turns and high pass with sharp drops. But these are only short sections of each road, mostly nice sweeping turns with some awesome views.

the road turns back on itself and is narrow with no berm. Hundreds of bikers go this direction on weekends--counted 50 or more just passing our campground. I went during the week to avoid crowds. this area is arid, not quite desert.

I started taking pics of historical markers, but Texas has 15,000 and most are only "sos-and-so camped here" "Indians crossed here" and some such.
