My bike is a mess, header pipes are pretty rough these days.. Anybody ever use this.. www.blue-job.com/In the 70's we used I think Semi chrome on the pipes which sorta worked. Just wanna get my bike cleaned up...get rid of bug splats, old road film on engine to kinda bring it back to life, wheel cleaners, etc. I am not a clean freak I know but I wanna keep it looking good for a little while:-)

For regular chrome clean up I use eagle one wadding compound. Works great. Even removed burnt on plastic from my rain suit. (don't ask)
I may need to try some of this blue job stuff to remove some blue spots on my HD slip on mufflers. The wadding compound isn't strong enough for that.

Blue Away and Simichrome are the two products we used to use on the old Brit bikes, they are still around at most motorcycle shops. I use Simichrome on the polished alum. engine side cases of the old XS650. www.webbikeworld.com/r3/blue-away/

I have to clean the Road Warrior before the Winter really kicks in.
I used a cleaner called 'Muck Off' over at Cotter Motor Cycles a while back and it really did what it said on the Tin.

"Oh, the polishing test is going to have to wait until my back is ready for it. Had to stop after just cleaning the pipes to get ready to try anything. Blue Job vs Flitz test is what I am thinking. With pics and maybe video." That was a copy and paste from our local group. I was told Blue Job shoulda been called con job. Never heard of Flitz... www.flitz.com/Haven't started cleaning my bike yet...decided to ride sunday rather than work on the bike.

I have used Blue Away on the pipes and it is quick and easy. www.blueawaycleaner.com/As far as the rest of the bike it always looks good but I do not have a clue what Hotcakes uses on it.

I'm a little slow. Could someone explain the concept of "Wanna clean my bike" . Is this something new?

Jeffe, it's an old concept. It's a good idea not to clean too much on old bikes, in some cases "rust bunnies" are the only things that are holding the bike together. Kill those rust bunnies and the whole bike falls apart like a house of cards.
I'm not pointing any fingers.....just saying be careful. ;D

It's a preservation of all the places the bike and rider have been and it will be of interest to historians in the future. Kinda like finding an unopend tomb of a pharoah!!!! ;D
