My first real bike. 55,000 miles and still going strong! My "new" bike. A 93 Nighthawk with 5,500 miles. The faring on the NH is history. I thought I'd try it out, but didn't like the way it handled on the highway. I've never sailed before, but it's probably as close as I'll ever get! Mark

This place is becoming infested with YAMAHAs.

You keep em clean! Nice bikes. I had one of the fairing/shields on my previous bike and, other then the looks, loved it. I could light a cigarette at 80 MPH. Then if it was a hot day just remove it and ride without it.
Couldn't bring myself to put one on a cruiser though....

I knew there was something about you I like. I have 78 XS11 also. Not near as pretty as yours though. Very nice bike. Have ever been to the XS11 site? Been a great help to me.

I see the Yammie has historical plates. I can spot those a mile away.

Thanks for the nice comments. Yeah, the Yamaha is my baby. Of course the historical plates mean I can't use the bike for transportation, whatever that means. I guess every ride is my own little parade. Plug in some Sousa and I'm good to go! Jeffe, I met you and your wife at one of the XS11 rallys. What's this I hear about coffee cans? Mark

Must of been the rally In W Va. At the Cowshed motel. The reference to coffee cans are about the exhaust. My XS11 is firmly in the rat-bike class. Runs great but doesn't look so good. The previous owner had the exhaust burn thru close to the ends when he was on a ride to Alaska. He took tin cans and used large hose clamps to seal it up. Since I don't want to go to an after market system because of the noise and having to rejet the carbs I've left it the way it is. So there you are.

Jeffe: Yeah, that was the one. The Cowshed with the tattoo parlor on the first floor! Definitely five star accomodations. Best roads I've ever ridden on for sure. I'm looking forward to joining a couple of rides with this group this summer. It looks like I've doubled the XS11 population. See ya soon. Mark
