Wow thats quite a heavy chain to lock your bike with!! Ha! The story behind the 6 ton anchor is that the Confederate Troops had a Mile Long chain hooked to it and suspended across the Mississippi river on Rafts. Each link in the chain weighed 12 pounds! When a Friendly boat approached they Retracted the Chain and let them pass. When a Union Boat approached they cut loose with these! Needless to say, General Grant found another way into the South by Taking Fort Donelson on the Cumberland River which made Columbus Unnecessary and the Confederates abandonded it in 1862. It is a very pretty State park with a nice camping area now.
