If you are looking for a destination near N.E. Ohio, you should try our neighbors to the east in Volant Pennsylvania. Volant is a small town that's easy to reach just east of the Ohio border near Youngstown Ohio. If you look on a PA map, Volant is just east of New Castle PA a few miles on PA Rt 168. To get there, you could take Rt 80 east and hook up with Rt 19 going south, or if you want the scenic routes you could take RT 62 east into PA and catch RT 19 and go south to Volant. It's not a long trip, and once you get there you will find many nice little shops, a grist mill, restaurants and a great little fishing tackle shop. You can park the bike and walk up and down main street to most of the shops without moving your bike. Just north of Volant on PA RT 19 is a great restaurant called the Iron Bridge Inn which I recommend highly. I got the best swordfish there that I have ever eaten. You do have to be careful while riding the back roads of PA, they have a somewhat large bear population, just be careful not to hit one. If you are interested in making a day of it in volant, you can click on this url and get all the information you need to make it a great trip. www.volantshops.com
