I would be remiss if I didn't dedicate a section to the mini cycle restorers, builders and collectors on this site. We have several members who excel in restoration and the collection of mini cycles, small CC bikes and their parts. It is my hope that this section will not only become a showcase for their bikes, but also serves as a place where other mini owners can gather to get help, and give help to those who are seeking advice and a parts source.

Who has a minibike? A minibike usually has 4", 5", or 6" wheels and a lawnmower type engine. They are generally not street legal. Now if you are talking about your Rupp, Shoe's small Hondas, and the junk that I own, they are classified as mini cycles. They usually have 10" or 12" tires. If they had all of the correct "street" parts when they left the factory the new owner was able to title the bike as a street legal motorcycle. I just thought that you needed a little history lesson from the 70s. ;D No Charge ;D

It was alwyas my understanding that any bike with 16 inch wheels was a Minicycle ,, This is why there was a cut off point at Windber a few years ago ..?

The cutoff at Windber was because people started bringing full size off-road motorcycles. It was scary up in the woods if you were riding a small limited horsepower minibike and came face to face with a 250cc dirt bike. Most of the mini cycles had 12" max tire size. There were a few exceptions: Yamaha YG80, Honda SL70, etc.

Hey Amtrak, it looks like a Kikker 5150. It is a kit bike that has been out for several years now. The only problem is that titling is very controversial in some states, including Ohio. www.kikker5150.com/hardknock.html
