Thanks for the welcomes! Sorry for the delayed response, I joined the board right as I was taking my last rides for the year and winterizing the new bike. I have been buried in work at the office since the weather has turned and I don't leave till it's dark and 20 degrees out. Here she is before the hibernation on my last ride for the year: It's an 08 Versys I picked up in early November. I also have an 82 GS850 that I bomb around on with the wife on occasion: I updated it with a set of straight bars and a new set of grips, but other than that it runs really well for an '82 with 24k on it. I'll hopefully be on more to keep my spirits up until spring!

Both are good looking bikes, that 82 GS850 is beautiful, is it restored or original ? How do you like the Versys, is it everything you thought it would be ? I read some good reviews on the Versys lately.

Thanks again,
The GS is original. I'm not much of a photographer, but I spent a lot of time cleaning it that day, and that picture flatters the bike a bit. It's in pretty good shape, but has it's little problems. It's a really fun, inexpensive to ride/maintain bike that is comfortable to just cruise around on even with a passenger. My wife wants me to get a sissy bar for her, but I have not found one I like for a reasonable price.
The Versys is a blast. I only got the chance to put 250 miles on it with work and such before my insurance kicked out for the winter. I made the agreement with my wife to not ride it till spring. I haven't really had the chance to push it too hard, but I did take it to the hills south of Lancaster (see pic) before the storage. It handles well and is very sure footed. I was riding down there and came across a road recently gravelled (kind of a shame, or so I thought), and it felt very controllable even when it was not "hooked up" and the back tire or front were floating a bit in the stones. Light, comfortable and easy to ride. Gotta work more for some accessories though!

I heard Kawasaki has a set of hard bags for touring which are big enough to hold a helmet and three sizes of windshields. The aftermarket guys will kick in soon and there will be a ton of goodies available.
