You could just hire some dude with a map to ride on the back.

Jeffe, I like your idea but it would be difficult for my hired mexican to write down dates/times/miles etc etc while riding.
I am looking for a GPS unit that will record my ride. I want a device that I can turn on when I leave the house and it will record where I went and when I was there. Then be able to download that data to a mapping site such as google maps to be able to share with other riders. I'm not so much interested in pre-planning routes. If it would also be adaptable to use in the car as a standard gps unit that would be great.
Anyone have any suggestions? I read about a Garmin Zumo 220 but it is too expensive.
Thankx.

I think that most garmin's will do what you want with the map software I can do it on my 2720.

I found an app for my phone that will do it for $1/day. Going to give it a try if spring ever comes.

If you can buy an app, it probably will be up to date all the time, my Garmin has to be updated every year.

I have a GPS built in on my Wing and it dosen't remember anything - well my wife insists that I have a MAP but I can remember where I went ... don't want to have something that tells on me as to where I have been!
Here's a picture of the GPS as I was riding down the road! And yeah it says 65 MPH but I was only going 61...! ;D Oh BTW - I had the Wing on "auto pilot" ;D
