Thanks for the video Bill, very interesting, and it's good to hear your voice too. It might interest you to know we have no snow in Alliance Ohio today.
Now take that Harley home and get it out of the snow ;D

Bill, up North the snow has all melted and the bikes were out in big numbers yesterday. Today is sunny and 11 Celsius (52 F) - just about to go out around the Mournes (again). Roads are dirty but drying though surprisingly grippy considering the amount of salt and grit that has been spread. Glory! Glory!

Bill, my favorite ride is the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains which are only 5 minutes from my front door. Thats why the snow is still with us, as it's a bit higher up there it's also colder and the snow lays for longer.
Flex day here God love the Civil Service! Took day off and went out with youngest daughter for her to buy a laptop. Got a good deal without having to come to Newry!
Hopefully when the weather improves and you are in Ireland and not Alliance we can meet half way and put some miles down?

Bill, You are lucky to live so close to the great bike roads of the Wicklow Mountains. It has been years since I travelled those roads though our club did the run last year when I was in Alliance. I will look forward to meeting up with you and maybe do the Wicklow Mountains again or if not the good roads around the border counties.
I have been riding around the Newry area on Sunday and yesterday so almost halfway there. Boy - is Newry buzzing with southern folks taking advantage of the weak pound and reduced VAT. There are obviously bargains to be had. I understand a lot of second-hand bikes have been bought by our southern cousins lately. Makes a change from us heading south for cheap(er) petrol/gas. The differential has gone. We just head down now for the excellent roads and the - dare I say it - 'craic'. I'll be in touch about the run. (For the Ohions who maybe aren't familiar with the complexities of the two Irelands - it is a bit like Canadians coming across to take advantage of your lower gas prices but on a much smaller scale.)

No worries Bill sounds good to me, you are right about the wicklow mountains great places to ride without too much traffic.
My ex work partner got transferred to Dundalk for his sins and I have been up to see him, it was him who sourced the Sporty I have at the moment. It was a buddy of his that lives in Cavan town. I drove up to Dundalk to pick Tony up and then drove from Dundalk to Cavan and was amazed at the roads going across country and how it criss crossed over and back across the border, it was only when the post boxes were changing colour did I realise which side of the border we were on.
I have not done any of my shopping up North yet but my better half Mags has.
Look forward to seeing you when the weather improves a bit!
