Last fall at the end of the season I pulled my bike outside and gave it a really good cleaning before putting it away. Wash, dry, polish, etc...the works. I was going to cover it, but hubby said he wanted to throw some gas stabilizer in it so don't cover it yet. Last month he did some work on the house and used the table saw in the garage where my bike is. I discovered that he not only did not cover it after the gas stabilizer, he didn't cover it before using the saw. I go out to the garage and my once shiny, clean bike looks like this.... Not that I am complaining about him working out there, but shouldn't he at least have covered the bike so it wasn't completely covered in every spec of exposed space with saw dust? It is STILL like that. His friends think I have a pretty good gripe and have piped in with what his punishment should be. What do you think?

I think, and don't get me wrong here I am not taking sides with your husband, but well yes I am. ;D Surely if it's YOUR bike, YOU should take responsibility for it?
I think it would be grossly unfair if your better half were punished!
What do you think chaps?

This has to be a first for me. Agreeing with VS. As a fellow HD owner, it's criminal. He ought to be out there with the polish cleaning it up and genuflecting begging for forgiveness.......

Was he building something for you or the house using the saw ?? This might effect the verdict of the crime

Was he building something for you or the house using the saw ?? This might effect the verdict of the crime Not really FOR me. Actually more for us both, but the motivation for it was to save him work every fall. He was tired of dealing with the cheap inserts for the screens on our screen porch so he decided to put double hung windows in so he didn't have to wrestle with the plastic inserts every winter. It will be nice since it will create more of a 3-season room when we get a little ventless heater out there. It's not like he was hanging curtains or putting up decorative shelving specifically for me. Regardless, would it have been so hard to throw the cover over it since he did tell me he would? Not like it would keep all sawdust off it, but it would be way better than the mess on it now. My vote would have been when I first saw it to make his truck muddy and file for divorce immediately. But after I got over initial gut-blow of the first sight when I wanted to cry, it'll be fine if he cleans it or super-fine if he pays a guy we know who does detail work to clean it (he'd make it look like new!). A nice dinner for punitive damages would be nice too
