How will the Recession affect you ? We have been in a Recession for quite a while now, but the government just recently made it official.

This recession could go two ways for the motorcycle industry, it could on the down side sound the death knell for some as people look to curtail on expensive toys.
I am not talking about people who use this site, but the ones you guys are calling squids and the weekend bankers who ride when the sun is out and because they have nothing else to spend their bonus's on.
On the plus side, it could also be the best thing that has happened to bikes in a long time. As things become more expensive and people might look for a cheap to run alternative to the second car.
After all bikes are free to park in congested city centres so no more parking costs. Who knows, but as far as it goes for me, if things remain stable for me and my family work wise, I have no need to change my lifestyle.

I will ride as I always have but I might have to limit the big rides that require motel stays if things stay slow at work for an extended period. We are on 32 hour weeks until further notice, I hope that pick up is sooner rather than later.

I have a couple of years to pay my bike off before I even consider another bike. My truck is going to be paid off in April, so I'm gonna try not to make so many payments for a while. I lost 22 grand on my 401K in six months so economizing is necessary on other things for a while.
