I got started at 12 when a friend gave me a ride on a Whizzer motorbike. I have been hooked on two wheels every since then.

I voted for 3 and could have used a 4th.
1) I started on a dirt (mini) bike because.... 2) my friends got me interested in it. Then.... 3) I rode pillion and decided to ride my own and then.... 4) my spouse taught me the rules of the road (along with the BRC)
Its been a long evolution to what it is today!

I got a chance to ride a friends. Then I asked my dad if I could have one,his answer was if I could pay for it. Two weeks later I was the proud owner of a one year old Honda 160 Scrambler. Though I REALLY got yelled at for trading my horse for it.

You traded a horse for your first motorcycle? ;D
That's got to be one of the most unique ways of getting a bike that I 've ever heard of.

I think that I was about 10 when my neighborhood buddies and I started buying junk gokarts and minibikes. If we could get 1 good runner out of 4 junkers, it was going to be a good day in the neighborhood. ;D

I got started at 12 when a friend gave me a ride on a Whizzer motorbike. I have been hooked on two wheels every since then. Same here - I blame it on my brother's Whizzer - then he went to a Simplex - then to a Harley. My best friend had an Indian Scout and then he got a Harley - he got his license pulled for 6 months back in the mid fifties and guess who he chose to ride him around?? ;D My dad would never ride because a friend of his was killed on a motorcycle. He didn't want me to ride either - but here I am hooked 4 ever.

I started with a Lancer Go-Kart at age 12, and my kid brother got a mini-bike when I was 14. Around that time a school buddy had an older brother in Vietnam and we would go to his mom's and get his brother's Yamaha 100cc twin scrambler out and ride it in a back alley after school, before his mom got home from work. I didn't get my first bike until I was 17. It was a 1967 Honda CL90 scrambler.

I started out on a mini bike when I was a kid that my parents bought me. I knew I was hooked the first time I got on it. I have been blaming them ever since.
