It seems like I am always leading group rides. That is my work! So, I rode to work today. Every Thursday a number of us meet in Lawrenceburg, IN and head out for some twisties. Eventually getting into Kentucky and having a blast on the twisty roads in the Tri-State Area. Since I live only three miles from the Indiana line and just across the river from Kentucky we tend to ride those roads instead of getting to the other side of Cincinnati. Thursday we meet at Granny's Lunch Box and head out at 9:30 AM. We usually have a pretty large group unless it is calling for rain. Had 14 bikes. Mostly Gold Wings but one Suzuki Burgman, one Shadow and one ST 1300. This photo was from Big Bone State Park in N. KY - It is a tough job but somebody has to do it! Now on Tuesday we meet at a Wendy's Restaurant in Miamitown, Ohio and leave at 9:30 for twisties somewhere. One of our riders just bought a new Connie - He still has his Gold Wing. He is now heading for Idaho. We always have a very large group on Tuesday. We even have a MSF Instructor ride when he can No telling where we end up! Every once in a while I select someone else to lead and I get to ride "drag" and the I can take a few photos. See ya down the road!

This summer I have ridden to work almost everyday - except when it is raining in the morning before I leave.

Envy all those who can ride to work including hubby. I'm in outside sales so I need to travel for work and look halfway presentable when I arrive. That's hard enough for me without battling helmet head!
Another thing is that our company carries supplemental insurance on those of us who drive for work. I would just love to see the look on managements' faces if I made calls on my bike...LOL! I can hear the primal scream coming from our company's insurance company already!!

Amtrak - This is the 4th GPS I have had. The Garmin units were great but the screen was so small and with a yellow background they were impossible to see in the sun. The Lowrance 600c has a larger screen with a white background and I can see it better.
I look at it for speed correction (Wing speedo is 4+ MPH fast) as well as where to find motels, gas stations, restaurants, etc.
I do not plan trips with it. I plan my trips on Microsoft Streets and Trips and generally get waypoints like: Dunlap - Hamilton - Trenton - Xenia - Knockemstiff - Dover - Sugar Creek, etc. you know, then if I do not know the exact route I want, I may do a "go to" on one of the waypoints. I can also follow my route on the screen. Just a bit of fun for an old guy! ;D

Since I don't work outside the house for the time being, and, I babysat my nephew last night until late this morning, there was no riding for me today... When I did go to work I would try to ride a few times a week... but, sometimes it's hard to ride in skirt!

I'm retired..........I ride when ever I want.
That's a good looking bunch of guys you ride with Roadrunner, they all seem to be geezers like myself. You can't beat a geezer when it comes to experience.
Good pics BTW

When I retired at the end of 2000, at 62, I decided to start a riding group to keep the oldsters from sitting on the porch and watching traffic go by. We have lots of fun (even for oldsters) ;D

Great pictures. I ride when I can, which isn't often. I never know when I will get off work. Altho I love riding home at night, when it's 3:30 AM & later I am usually pretty tired. Just not safe to ride under those conditions, or so I don't feel it is, with bambi runnin.

The weather has been very conducive for commuting. I think I can count on my one hand the number of times I've driven into work since sometime in June. Like Dave, I will ride in unless it's a steady rain in the morning. I don't mind getting wet on the way home but don't want to sit at my desk with my shoes full of water!
Last couple of years I've only ridden in when it's been really nice but since gas pries have drastically escalated I've just looked at the bike as my commuter vehicle. Now that I've ridden so much to work it seems like the bike is the norm rather then the car.
