I wasn't busy at work today so put this map together. I have marked the locations of the Ride Ohio members so all can see, at a glance, where we all live. I did not put any members name to a marked location just in case anyone might not care to have it shown. A couple of notes about the listed locations: 1. I could only put a location on the map if the city was noted in the members profile. So, if your location is not listed that's why. If you want it shown let me know and I can add it. (Locations are based on city only and do not show actual street locations of members.) 2. The place markers are color coded based on the members post frequency rating. I.E. Gold, Senior etc. 3. Because there were so many "new" members in the database, (and because I am at work and don't have that much time), I only marked new members who have logged in at least once in 2008. The map can be zoomed out or in and I believe comments can be added to each location. Just click on the marker. www.communitywalk.com/ohio/ride_ohio_member_locations/map/238011Bob (AKA Tamarack) PS: I wasn't sure the best place to list this so I put it here.

That's a good worth while project Bob. I wish everyone would put their location on their profile for just this reason, but I have not been very successful in getting it accomplished. If all members would give us their location, it would put a lot of flags on that map for future reference, plus it would help when we plan a group ride.

This is a great idea, but you have me living in the middle of #&8ing nowhere?

This is a great idea, but you have me living in the middle of #&8ing nowhere? Bill, I just entered "Ireland" and that's where the pointer fell. You don't state a specific location on your profile so couldn't do any better then that. Let me know specifically what town your in and I'll change it. By the way...I used to live, for eight years, "in the middle of #&8ing nowhere" and I loved it! Nothing but bright stars in the sky(and you could actually see the Milky Way) , endless woods and fields to play in and only the noise from the crickets and spring peepers to listen to. I miss it so

If all members would give us their location, it would put a lot of flags on that map for future reference, plus it would help when we plan a group ride. After I put all the flags on the same thought occured to me about being nice for planning purposes. Such as "meet up" locations etc. Next map will be "Ride to Eat" locations.

Well Bob, I do live in Ireland, I live in a suburb of Dublin called Knocklyon, it's situated in the south of the county between Templeogue and Rathfarnham, post code Dublin 16! Does that help?

Bill, yes it helps. But I still don't know how to pronounce " Knocklyon" . It sounds good when Mags pronounces it, but it looses something when I pronounce it. ;D

Bill, Since Knocklyon is a relatively "new" area, recently independent of your neighbors, it wasn't listed on the map. I think I got you located in the right area though. You now live right next to Bushy Park! ;D

This kinda makes me nervous. If you happen to be in the Witness Protection Program this could cause problems. ;D But seriously thanks Bob, this is really cool.

I know Jeffe and Amtrack were kidding but just so everyone knows....I had the option of catagorizing the map as open to all to see, including comming across it via search engine, or only with those I chose to share it with. It is designated as a share only restriction menaing the only way anyone can view it is to access it via the link posted here.
