We were at Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham AL today for almost 4 hours. If you've never been, you owe it to,your self to visit the place,
I can't post any pics from my camera until we get home Friday night, but I took over 450 photos today.
The place is amazing.....

Stopped at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY on the way north today. Nice place even if you don't own a Vette.
Saw what was left of the cars that went into the sink hole last year. Several were damaged beyond repair. Several not too bad.
Also saw 7 new cars just off the assembly line that are being delivered to their owners tomorrow at the museum.
2 red, 2 gray, 2 white and one blue.

It's pretty close to the looking like the first year of the 650, but a purest can tell that is an XS650 Special which has been painted the retro colors. Having said that, it is a good looking bike. I'd ride it !
Thanks for posting, the old XS650s are in my blood.

Yuppers my 650 was green and a '70.The bike pictured is a special?..thought Specials had leading front axels..I might be thinking before they started that.

I'd have to look, but if memory serves me, no leading front axel. I still have my 81 XS650H tucked away in the garage. I gotta get a new battery and clean the carbs one of these days.

This is my old XS650H which is still sitting in my garage....pretty much the same way it looks in this photo taken by Shoe back in 1977. The wire wheels are a little rare. The bike is factory stock except for a new seat and swing arm bushings.
