Had an appointment this morning. Michelle needed the car and our son needed the truck. Nice ride at 38 degrees.

I'm thinking about taking Strom out to stretch his legs in a bit. It's 37 degrees here but the roads are pretty clean

Looks like a nice day to wander down to Mohican for an afternoon loop. Hope you all get out for a ride too.
Safe journeys to all.

Nice 230 mile loop thru Mohican, to Danville, a flooded Mohawk Dam area (715 was closed west of the dam), Warsaw to 60 to Killbuck then north up to the lake. Lots of flooding along 60 north of Rt 36. Bambi and I made 2 water crossings (only a few inches on the road with no current). Glad my boots are waterproof.

Well the problem is... my doc didn't want me to ride for 3 months.
Last time I rode was in early February and then when CHF hit me. Congestive Heart Failure - while in Florida I spent a week in the hospital and have not ridden since. Wing was showing corrosion on the wheels and some pitting of the chrome. I decided to keep it in the trailer - when I got home from Florida - I had a friend come over and detail it for me. (I swear it looked new after 5 hours of detailing) Anyway, April 1st I sold the Wing... and am now waiting for 3 months to figure out what Wing will be my next ride. They are just motorcycles, you know! Health-wise, I seem to be getting a little better each day. Still - this is the first time in over 40 years that there has not been a motorcycle in my garage!

Bill - I hope this is just a temporary thing. I have been at Wendy's for the last 2 weeks on Tuesday - no bike to ride... give me a couple more months!

Sorry to hear you are having health problems RR, hope you get back on two wheels real soon. Your health comes first. There is another motorcycle out there just waiting for you to find it.

XS Yeah XS - I think this "time out" is just a temporary detour. Feeling better every day and I know that there are many motorcycles out there and I am just waiting this "time out" thing like a hockey player and will be ready to ride whenever I am better!
The thing for me that is hard to fathom is - for the last 40 years there has been a motorcycle in my garage... sometimes there were two. Now when I walk out in my garage - it is empty. What a let down. Maybe by June I will have another - actually June 1954 was when I first threw my leg over a motorcycle and went for a ride... it was not a smooth take-off but only slightly different than my trusty Schwinn.
I think I was at that day in June - 60 years ago - "born to ride"
That is hard to give up something like that.
Sorry for RAMBLING - no bike to ride so I have to do something...
Outta here!
Jim

I understand completely RR, I started riding back in 1956 and have had a bike every since then. I don't know what I'll do when it comes time for me to quit riding. I try not to think about it.
BTW, it's not rambling when you are among friends...it's called conversation.

It was the Air Force then kids prevented me from having a motorcycle until the two boys were in their early teen years and then the oldest who will be 52 this year talked me into a small Kawasaki dirt bike when he was 14. He rode for a number of years and then after being married for 17 years - a baby appeared and then another. He sold his Bandit a year ago... he will get another ride when the time comes.

Nice weather out today. Unfortunately we are in the cage heading to Jacksonville area for golf and relaxing this week.
Maybe I will rent a harley and go wake up my BIL's neighbors this week. :-)
