Sorry it's so last minute, but I am meeting 87 and Trish at the Amish Door at 1:00 tomorrow (Saturday 7/16) then riding to Roscoe Village. Hope some RideOhio people can meet us there too and I am looking for a riding buddy (or a few) to go from the Akron/Canton area to the Door. Let's Ride!

BTW, Rt 62 is closed (construction) just north of Kauffmans bakery near Heinis cheese factory in Bunker Hill. Only a few hundred yards Of the road are torn up but you cannot cut through the bakery from Rt 62. The road in front of Heini's is open.

Sorry Vs2up, at the moment I'm not able to wear a helmet.
You will love Roscoe Village. Eat at the Warehouse Restaurant's patio.

Hey Wahoo... I'm not really clear if there is a workable detour on 62 or if I should just avoid it entirely.

You can get around it. There is a county road that crosses before the closure. As you're going south, turn right, and go west to the first cross road, and turn left (south). Should take you right past Heinis.
I don't know the road numbers but they show up if you go to google maps or mapquest.
The closed portion is only 200 yards or so near Kaufmanns bakery.
If you avoid Rt 62, I think 515 might be an alternative heading south. But I'm not 100% certain on that one.

515 runs down to Walnut Creek. 39 east for a few miles then 70 south to 643 which goes down to 83 just north of Coshocton
It been a while since I've been over that way but mapquest should lay it out for you.
I'm still trying to make this today, although it will be sans Mrs Wahoo.
1:00 at Amish door, correct?

Sorry Wahoo, didn't see this until now. VS and I discussed it and decided that since she didn't feel comforatable riding that far by herself it would be best if we tried another date. Thought you had declined yesterday and since there was no other takers, didn't think to post up until now.

No problem. Mrs. Wahoo was under the weather last night (which is why I originally cancelled) but she felt better this morning.... so we decided to go.
We waited at the Amish Door about 30 minutes (time was well spent....she was shopping) and left for Roscoe Village around 1:30. Took 93 south from 250. What a great road !
There was a calliope festival going on so we had some nice relaxing musical entertainment while eating on the patio at the Warehouse.
Came back 36 to 60 North and then ran 60 about 100 miles to Lake Erie.
A little over 240 miles for the day. What a great day for a ride !
I'll try to post some pics later after I load them on Photobucket.

Nice pics of Roscoe Village Wahoo !! Did you ever try the Fishbowl sundae at Captain Nye's ?
How long did it take to pry Mrs. Wahoo away from the stores at Roscoe ?
I think Mrs. XS spent about 3 hours. ;D
