I voted for cars, but I have a definite fear of hitting a dear too. I almost hit one on our Iron Pony ride, it was already down in my lane and was trying to get up. I was on it before I realized what was happening. Scared the crap out of me !!

Has to be deer for me, big time. Most of my riding is in the country, deer are abundant and totally unpredictable. (Half the time invisible till too late).

That's a toss up. Twice now I have split 2 deer, while they were both in my lane. Both times I was in a position where they were "just there", once on a blind turn and the other a blind hill. The 1ft time they freaked and tried to turn back and I rode between them, the 2nd time they crossed. That one was the worse because my right bark buster almost cold cocked the 2nd deer. So far I'd say I am well up over 2 dozen deer within 2o yards of me at speed.
I've ran over coons, groundhogs, a near miss with a porcupine, various other critters, a bird (killed by the bark buster) and 2 bats (one to the chest and one to the helmet.
Only 2 cars have tried to kill me though
My biggest fear? Debris such as rocks, boards, truck springs, car parts, dead animals being kicked up by motorust in front of me. A co worker had his sister killed when a chunk of metal came through her windshield and I had a rock from a cement truck smash my knuckle, then bounce up and crack my mirror before hitting my helmet all in one massive ricochet.
oh yeah, and senior, senior citizens

Although I voted for animals - I would have to say "all of the above" anything that moves or doesn't could be a hazard to my riding.
One just must be alert and aware of what is going on all around ...
Situational Awareness

To quote the three stooges..."I resemble that" !! ;D Better get a trike then, wouldn't want that Rupp to over power you! There comes a time in your life when your wits and reflexes are slower than the goverment and you need to kick back and enjoy the ride on SARTA or RTA

Mostly I scare myself, then the left turning driver who doesn't see you followed by deer and dogs. The worst I can think of would be a senior citizen deer making a left turn while using a cell phone :-) :-)
